Is the World Really That Miserable?

Some alternative measures of economic health and happiness, such as misery indexes and per capita GDP, suggest the world is healthier than the top-line GDP suggests. Others look less sanguine, such as income inequality and pollution. It's important to gauge human happiness, as it can dictate political movements and/or social unrest, which we all know can have long-term implications on broader economic growth.
